Galtronics recently launched a new wideband WiMAX 802.16 base-station antenna. This high performance antenna offers excellent coverage for the 2.3-2.7 GHz frequency band and combines optimal coverage and excellent pattern performance. It offers null fill and upper side lobe suppression that will improve system coverage. Multi-column design provides the best possible coverage optimization for WiMAX systems.

The initial release includes two multi columns dual polarized antennas with 65 degree and 90 degree horizontal beam-width (HBW). Each column, for each antenna, offers very high isolation, identical elevation radiation patterns, and very consistent horizontal coverage. Both antennas are 4 ft long with built-in calibration networks. The 65-degree HBW antenna offers above 17.0 dBi gain for each column and the 90-degree HBW antenna provides above 16 dBi gain.

This innovative design combines both PCBs and cables to give excellent efficiency and consistency across the operating frequency band. It also improves manufacturability due to a slim design and cost effective production methods.
